Guy Duininck: Why Did God Send Jesus?
Although we could state many, many reasons why Jesus came and many, many things that He accomplished through His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, the primary reason God sent Jesus to earth and did what He did through Him was to make it possible for Himself and for His creation to return to the "beginning" again - to return to a Profound and Loving Personal Relationship.
Sin was in the way. Satan was in the way. Law was in the way. And man was in the way!
God dealt with all these things and with all that had to be dealt with through the One Plan and the One Man, Jesus Christ.
He didn't do all this just so that we could "go to heaven" one day. He did all of this to "Bring us back to God."
