Guy Duininck: The Neo-Calvinist movement

The Neo-Calvinist movement, cloaked in a manifestation of "godly humility" and a, "deep trust that God, who is in control of everything, knows so much better than we," is teaching and promoting what I consider to perhaps one of the most fundamentally flawed teachings in the church. A teaching which is a complete "misread" on God and how He designed things to function in His relationship with man. And a teaching, which, if embraced and followed, necessarily leads to a life of full acceptance of all things that happen as "of God" and a general complacency in the taking of personal responsibility on any life matter.

I used to think that if we laid the Foundation right, everything else would be built in the right way. But Paul said,

"Let every man be careful how he builds on this foundation."

The truth of the matter is that the Foundation can be properly laid - which is Jesus Christ - but then upon that foundation, many things, or nearly everything, can be completely out of order and contrary to the Design. This is why every truly born of God believer MUST HAVE right teaching AFTER they are saved.
