Some Thoughts about Mary
The greatest miracle of all time, the entrance of the Messiah into this world, was facilitated through the character, faith and obedience of a mature teenage woman named Mary. This young woman knew the voice of her God, was not bothered at all by the appearance of angel, asked for no sign to prove the promise she was given, but simply said, "Be it unto me according to your word; I am the Lord's handmaiden." Later when pregnant with Jesus and visiting her cousin Elizabeth who was pregnant with John the Baptist, both she and Elizabeth magnified the Lord in worship by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, quoting scripture and rejoicing in God.
This young woman, mother, and handmaiden of the Lord raised up her son, the Messiah, through His early years. He willingly submitted to both her and His father. She saw things about His life and heard Him say things that she "kept hidden in her heart." Later, just after He had been baptized by the Holy Spirit, she boldly nudged Him out into His public ministry at the wedding of Canaa where where she prompted Him to do His very first miracle which, He said, was before His time. She followed her son in His ministry and was at the foot of His cross when He died. She followed Him as Savior after He was raised from the dead and was in the Upper Room on the day when they Holy Spirit was poured out on God's servants and handmaidens.
Mary worked no miracles, preached no messages, and didn't make the front page news in her home town. Yet, by the choosing of God and by the skill and surrender of this excellent handmaiden of the Lord, the will of God was transacted and His great plan of salvation was set in motion.
No person should never underestimate the significance of the plans that God has called them to. Mothers and Fathers should not fail to realize that even things as seemingly simple as caring for your children may be setting things in motion for wonderful and strategic plans of God to be fulfilled in the future. Always Take your place and Hold your place in the will of God with All your Might.
